A weekend-long event full of Workshops about the classical saxophone.
A saxophone tradition will be continued that draws many young musicians to the region of the Upper Lusatia. Guest of the Saxophone Day will be the reknown Signum Saxophone Quartet from Cologne. The musicians of the quartet, Blaž Kemperle, Simon Schuller, Alan Lužar and David Brand will give lessons for solo-saxophone and ensembles in cooperation with Ragnar Schnitzler who created and organized this workshop and is teacher of classical saxophone in Eastern Saxony.
The Signum Saxophone Quartet will celebrate the opening of the event at the 6th of May 2011 at 7.30pm with a concert in the “Bürgersaal” of the town hall of Zittau within the context of the international concert series “Stunde der Musik”. The workshop takes place on the 07th of May 2011 from 9am-5pm and on the 8th of May 2011 from 9am-3pm and will be concluded with a concert of the participants in the concert hall of the “Kreismusikschule Dreiländereck” in Löbau.
Furthermore there will also be instrument manufacturers and exhibitors like Harald Dallhammer from Nuremberg, the specialist shop “Triole” from Dresden, the Yamaha branch Eastern Germany and the specialist for music books Stephan Zerluth from Munich.
